At least at cairns and port douglas its 30 degrees, the sunshine coast is only 24-26. everyone says the sunshine coast shoul,d be perfect weather all the time at this time of year so whats going on?? Please help, i need to book tomorrow! I really need to get away...

sunshine coast- it has the north coast (with many towns and beaches), and also the south coast (with the famous gold coast)... trust me- the weather on the sunshine and gold coasts will be hot enough for you...

far north qld is hot- and really really muggy/humid- trust me- nice however stinky hot.. personally I prefer the flora and fauna of far nth Qld- however the sunshine and gold coast weather and attractions are nice too
It's summer time in Australia, you have to expect afternoon storms etc.

It's also the beginning of the wet season in the Tropics.

No matter where you go along the Queensland coast you'll still get more than enough of heat and sunshine.

It would be rare for it to rain all day, unless there is a cyclone off the coast.
It may be stormy weather, but it will be hot and possibly quite humid. I love Cairns, I would love to live there - it has everything - fantastic beaches (just north of the city), beautiful mountains and scenery, it's just gorgeous. Port Douglas is pretty too, but is very expensive, but a lovely beach. I reckon go for either of them compared to the Sunshine Coast. I've also been to the Whitsundays, and that is simply gorgeous as well - again, stunning beaches and that tropical feel. If you can afford it, an island stay such as on Hamilton Island would be simply fantastic, but if not - go for Cairns. It's only an hour's drive away from Port Douglas, so you can spend a day or two there and drive back! Have fun.
